Therefore, the development and implementation of methodologies to allow the real-time insitu analysis of biomarkers, such as pH and ROS, may offer huge advantages in terms of our understanding of how the biomarkers change throughout normal and pathological healing processes, and provide a better insight to the factors initiating chronicity.
